Failsafe Protection and Response For Airborne Threats

WHY YOU NEED THIS UNIT

You get a PASS for the same reason you wear a seatbelt because the risks of not doing so are just too expensive and dangerous to ignore.

You wear a seat belt or have a smoke detector at home not because you expect to be in an accident or have a fire, but because you know these are proven ways to avoid injury.   Everyone has had the experience of being exposed to fumes, smoke, smells and odors that caused them to suffer. There was often little they could do but get away from the source. Having a PASS at every workplace and pubic building will get a lot more use then a automatic defibrillator which often costs more and can only help one person at a time while a PASS can help dozens every day.

Medical Facilities Use PASS

On January 2nd of 2001, at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in NYC,  a fire started from an outside contractor’s welding sparks catching insulation on fire.  Thirty-two Intensive care patients had to be moved  and  the ventilation system was shut down to contain the smoke rising into the occupied hospital. The NYC fire department put out the fire in under an hour.  Erick Aviles the Director of Fire Safety, and Denis Jackson the Security Director, both credit their Failsafe Air Safety System for removing smoke from the third floor and purifying the air in an article published in a Hospital Magazine.

In 2002, Staub Hospital in Hawaii, was receiving a diesel fuel delivery to an underground tank twenty feet outside the Emergency Room entrance.   A spill occurred and while cleaned up quickly the warm weather concentrated the fumes and soon the entire ER staff had burning eyes and patients were having breathing problems.    The ER was shut down but a presentation was also underway about the PASS technology in a conference room in a separate wing when someone received a page an announced the problem in the ER.   The inventor of the FASS volunteered to bring the fully functional demo unit to the ER and demonstrate it's use in such situations and in under one hour all fumes, smells and symptoms were completely removed.

In Kingston NY a hospital lost the use of their isolation room for infection control when the equipment failed a day before a regulatory inspection and quickly borrowed a FASS demo unit and was able to demonstrate and exceed standards for testing of their isolation suite fitted with the FASS.   Another hospital had work ongoing to repair a roof and fumes from the hot tar repairs were effecting and entire wing of the hospital when a FASS was employed and cleared the problem in thirty minutes.   Still other hospitals use the FASS to eliminate odors in the ER from burn victims being treated, or those from homeless or body fluid odors.    Another uses the system to wipe out odors and risks from floor waxing chemicals, cleaning operations, or maintenance painting keeping their facilities fully operations, lower risk management and lawsuit exposure and regulatory compliance.

AR Printing in Buffalo had a electric motor fire which was quickly put out but for a week afterwards the arid odor seeped into their products, paper and caused medical suffering for staff that threatened their business.  An overnight PASS treatment cured the situation and saved the supplies and products.   AA Trauma Cleanup of Florida used the PASS to respond to sick cruise ship cleanups and other tough challenges.

Regulatory Compliance

No matter your industry or size dozens of regulations require staff, visitors, and occupants to be protected from airborne health risks.   From OSHA, EPA, DEC, JACHO, and a dozen other agencies that can access fines and even criminal charges the main reason for a business to own a PASS is regulatory compliance.   The cost of a lawyer to respond to any regulatory citation can exceed the cost of a PASS for the first phone call.

Staff Protection - Maintain Health & Productivity

If you staff gets sick productivity and operations are effected immediately as productivity suffers.

Maintaining Operations - Avoid Bad Press

For many managers the thought of having live news coverage setting up on the front lawn because fumes have sickened those  exposed is just the start of a bad dream that happens every day in the United States.  As employees or customers panic, ambulances, police and fire trucks arrive and evacuate your building and shut down your business.    The press demand answers, OSHA, the Health Department, or EPA are collecting things in evidence bags, and sickened customers and staff are getting calls from litigation attorneys.   Demands to hired expensive HAZMAT cleanup crews soon arrive and God forbid if children were involved in the incident.   This unfolding drama can occur when a cleaning solution is spilled, or even an unknown odor shows up one day that is finally traced to a piece of rotting fruit left in the desk of an employee on vacation.      The cost for loss of operations, legal, PR and even future business will exceed the cost of a PASS in the first five minutes and a simple Google Search for "Fumes" will list hundreds of stories that often could have been quietly resolved with a PASS.

Reducing Risk of Lawsuits - Complaints

Of course the cleanup and removal of fumes, spills, and other events is just the starting point for both regulatory investigations, and lawsuits.    Hours spend in compelled testimony, depositions, and legal costs can make having the PASS as evidence that your firm went above and beyond to be prepared to deal with airborne emergencies.

Reducing Medical Costs - and Absences

Staff, customers, patients, and visitors often have medical conditions such as allergies, asthma, and sensitivities  that react to airborne exposures that do not affect others.   From headaches, to allergic reactions and breathing problems these often valuable staff members will have greater absences and higher medical costs which might be avoided if a PASS is available when symptoms arise.

Health Care - Common Uses

Isolation Room Surge Capacity - Isolation for Fixed areas such as radiology, dialyses, CT, MRI, and others when infectious patients must receive treatment.  Avian Flu, SARS and other planning needs.

Meeting Regulatory Compliance - CDC, FDA, OSHA, JACHO, Bioterrorism and Disaster use.   TB Isolation use.

Protecting imunodeficient patents with burns, MRSA, HIV, Chemo Patients, reducing flu and other infections to staff and patients,

Removing Nuisance Odors in Pathology, Cafeteria, contaminated patients, maintenance activities, spills and accidents, removing odors from patients room from prior patients, indoor air quality issues, mold, asbestos, lead paint dust, accidents and HAZMAT events.

Tactical Uses - Police, Military, Fire, EMS,

Fire, EMS, Police, Military, Trauma Cleanup companies, Biohazard Cleanups, Embassies, government buildings, corrections, etc.

Responding to pepper sprays, chemical spills, odors, anthrax, smoke, fumes, stink bombs, bioterrorism, office air quality, locker room disinfection, maintenance activities, deceased body odor, sanitizing vehicles after exposure to body fluids, TB isolation for infected arrestee's, staff protection, shooting range lead dust control,

Public Building Operations - Schools etc.

Schools and daycare to sanitize areas in cases of infectious persons, to protect sensitive students/staff, asbestos, cleaning and maintenance smells, stink bombs, fires, smokes, fumes, mold, indoor air quality issues, shop areas,  Removing odors and cleaning the air for the next work cycle in bars and restaurants,  Landlords and Real estate use the PASS to clean, remove odors, and sanitize between tenants, and health clubs, lockers rooms, malls, and others use the system to control odors, sanitize the facilities and reduce risk of infections being spread.     Cruise ships, airports, trains, and shipping companies respond to spills, accidents, outbreaks of illness and complete odor removal and disinfection.   Press and Media insure safety for staff as they were targeted in the first anthrax attacks.

If you are a hotel, restaurant, or place that serves the public you know that a vandal shooting pepper spray can close your business for hours and terrorize staff fleeing to the hospital for burning eyes and breathing troubles.     What are the costs of lost sales for the entire night of a bar or restaurant?  For you the decision is more a business decision to avoid loss, but also to prevent lawsuits, meet employee safety regulations, or keep your business clean and sanitary.

Industrial - Manufacturing - Construction

Agriculture uses the PASS for odor control, disinfection, protection from dusts, pesticides, and fumes from operations or spills.  Construction and Maintenance companies use the system to remove paint fume, chemical odors, and other hazards during construction, maintenance or renovations.  From pet stores, to auto repair, the uses for odors, cleaning and protection are almost too numerous to list.   Post office, shipping and delivery services have spills or damaged packages that have fume or exposure risks and regulatory compliance requires an effective plan ready to protect all exposed.

Other Uses

If you are a parent or run a daycare center or even have loved one's with medical conditions that risk their health, the decision is not just caring from the heart but also in wisdom in lowering risks, medical bills, and protecting your loved ones who breath toxins you would not let then drink if in the water.   Are you going through great effort to sanitize things, wash hands, inspect food and just ignore all the germs in the air that start growing in minutes after you disinfect something in your home.

Protect Private Homes when residents have illness or sensitivity to infections – Mold, Asbestos, Allergies, Disinfection, Odor Control,  disaster cleanup, floods, cleaning companies, etc.

HOMES USES?

With all this power some might be wondering who would ever need one of these for home use?   Many families have members who suffer from severe allergies or have immune conditions that can cause not just suffering but continual medical bills.  A furnace or tabletop filter or air cleaner cannot capture the contaminated air nor leave an antiseptic atmosphere with daily treatments when the house is not occupied.    Some family members have to stay in isolation in hospitals at great expense because there was no way to offer the same protection at home.   Patients with HIV, or undergoing chemo therapy, have immune systems that can be at risk to airborne contamination.    But more simply smells from smoking, pets, cooking and other things can fill a house and permeate furniture, clothes and bedding.    A PASS can be not only useful but sometimes medically vital and may even be eligible for insurance reimbursement if medically indicated.

FIRE/SMOKE/MOLD CLEANUP

Many fire, smoke, mold, renovation, cleaning and other firms are using ozone, and limited air filtering to cleanup after fires, floods and other events.     This system will increase your efficiency, and insure your clients and staff are protected with an white room antiseptic air environment with the addition of a PASS to your methods and tools.

NOT IF - BUT WHEN

The decision to purchase a PASS system costing almost $5,000.00  is never based on if you will have a need for one but instead when will be the next time you know you should have it ready.   If it is your job and mandate to respond to events that include airborne hazards then not having this tool makes about as much sense as a scuba diver not having air tanks.    Simply the risk is too high for loss of life or medical costs and PR nightmares when you are charged with the safety of others whether you are a school, college, hospital, fire department or in other professions.
